Bergenfield Animal Clinic's Dedicated Team
Our team of veterinary professionals is dedicated to delivering the best customer service and compassionate care to you and your pets.
Teresa Zapata — Practice Manager
Teresa has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years. She joined the Bergenfield Animal Clinic team in February of 2016. Teresa started her veterinary career as a kennel assistant and worked her way up to management. She says, "Being involved in all positions of the hospital allowed me to appreciate each role and the many levels that comes with them. I am able to put myself in my team’s shoes, which is important when attempting to come to agreeable solutions."
She and her husband live in Rockland County, New York and are proud parents of two male pitbulls, Symba and Lolo. One of her passions is educating individuals about the pitbull breed. She says, “Pitbulls are one of the most misunderstood breeds out there, they are truly a magnificent type of dog and if people took the time to understand them they would see that they are one of the best family pets one could own! I will always have a pitbull in my home."
Agustina Arzuaga Gumpert, CVT — Veterinary Technician
Agustina graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Bergen Community College. She says, "I have wanted to work with animals from a very young age. I love working at Bergenfield Animal Clinic. All of the staff are so much fun to work with and our clients and patients make it even more rewarding. I love being involved in helping our patients feel their best."
Her pets include four parakeets and two lab rats that she adopted from one of her classes while in school. When not at Bergenfield Animal Clinic, Augustina spends her time reading, hiking, watching movies, and hanging out with friends and family.
Jason Feher — Veterinary Assistant
Jason was born and raised in Cliffside Park, New Jersey and is also known as the singing assistant. He lives at home with his parents and fur-brother Beamer the Beagle.
When asked what he likes about working at Bergenfield Animal Clinic (BAC), he said: "I have loved the time spent at BAC because of the team I work with. They are a good influence on me and they keep my work environment healthy and happy."
When not at Bergenfield Animal Clinic, Jason occupies his time working with horses, showing that his love for animals has no limits in size.
He also loves singing, writing, bowling, and relaxing at home with a good book or video game.
Kristina Piovane — Veterinary Assistant
Kristina started volunteering at Bergenfield Animal Clinic and decided this is the field she wants to pursue a career in. Now one of our main assistants, she is currently continuing her education in hopes of getting a veterinary technician license in the near future. Kristina says, "The staff is so supportive of one another’s needs and they are considerate of my opinions. It is definitely a great working environment!"
In her spare time, Kristina enjoys hiking, anything that requires her to use her imagination and creativity, and adventures with her 10-year-old puggle Reyna. She also has a ferret name Keira that she shares her love with.
Kayla Williams — Veterinary Assistant
Kayla has been with Bergenfield Animal Clinic since May 2016. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University and has always had a passion for wildlife rehabilitation and zoology. Her goal is to obtain a degree in veterinary medicine in one of those fields.
Kayla enjoys Chinese cuisine, watching YouTube videos, anime, bowling, camping, working out, and playing the clarinet.
Even though she is relatively new to the veterinary field, Kayla is extremely enthusiastic and is working hard to fulfill her dreams. She says, "I just want to one day be able to contribute to defending and protecting those who cannot defend themselves." A true animal lover!
Gina Vitale — Receptionist
Gina resides in Paramus, NJ with her dog Toby, the cutest bichon poodle mix you have ever seen. She has been with Bergenfield Animal Clinic since May 2017, and it feels like she has been part of our work family for years.
